Praying the Psalms

Zephaniah 3.17-18a

Your G-d the Lord is in your midst,

A Warrior who brings triumph.

He will rejoice over you and be glad,

He will shout over you with jubilation.

He will soothe with His love

Those long disconsolate.

Quando o amor de Deus se concentra sobre sobre um objeto que merece Sua aprovação, é o amor da complacência.

    • Wow! Great question! It took me a while to translate, so please forgive my delay in answering. I firmly believe that God can, and does, love that which s/he may or may not approve of. For instance, my children do many things I do not approve of, yet my love for them never wavers. Love is not based on “likes and dislikes” or “approval and disapproval.” Despite the like or dislike of anything or anyone, love can soothe, love can heal. I most certainly believe that God loves even that which s/he disapproves. (I’m not sure what you mean by love of complacency.)
