For as the earth brings forth her growth
And a garden makes the seed shoot up,
So the Lord God will make
Victory and renown shoot up
In the presence of all the nations.
Like the birds that fly,
even so will the Lord of Hosts shield Jerusalem,
shielding and saving,
protecting and rescuing.
So do not fear,for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
And from the ground the Lord G-d caused to grow
every tree that was pleasing to the sight and good for food,
with the Tree of Life in the middle of the garden,
and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
And cold and heat,
And summer and winter,
And day and night Shall not cease.
He who rules people justly,
He who rules in awe of G-d
is like the light of morning at sunrise,
a morning without clouds ~
[bringing] vegetation out of the earth.
2 Samuel 23.3b-4
If, then, you obey the commandments that I enjoin upon you this day, loving the Lord your G-d and serving Him with all your heart and soul, I will grant the rain for your land in season, the early rain and the late. You shall gather in your new grain and wine and oil~ Deuteronomy 11.13-14

Seek good and not evil,
That you may live,
And that the L-rd, the G-d of Hosts,
May truly be with you,
As you think.
Hate evil and love good,
And establish justice in the gate;
Perhaps the L-rd, the G-d of Hosts,
Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
The Lord spoke to Moses saying: Say to the Israelite people:
On the fifteenth day of this seventh month there shall be the Feast of Booths to the Lord, to last seven days. The first day shall be a sacred occasion: you shall not work at your occupations; seven days you shall bring offerings by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall observe a sacred occasion and bring an offering by fire to the Lord; it is a solemn gathering: you shall not work at your occupations.
Mark on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the yield of your land, you shall observe the festival of the Lord to last seven days: a complete rest on the first day, and a complete rest on the eighth day. On the first day you shall take the product of hadar trees, branches of palm trees, boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. You shall observe it as a festival of the Lord for seven days in the year; you shall observe it in the seventh month as a law for all time, throughout the ages. You shall live in booths seven days; all citizens in Israel shall live in booths, in order that future generations may know that I made the Israelite people live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I the Lord your God.
So Moses declared to the Israelites the set times of the Lord.
- Leviticus 23 (asorensen.wordpress.com)
But ask the beasts, and they will teach you;
The birds of the sky, they will tell you,
Or speak to the earth, it will teach you;
The fish of the sea, they will inform you.
Who among all these does not know
That the hand of the Lord has done this?
In His hand is every living soul
and the breath of all humankind.
With Him are wisdom and courage;
His are counsel and understanding.
Job 12.7-10, 13
So long as the earth endures,
Seed-time and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Summer and winter,
Day and night
Shall not cease.
When you pass through water,
I will be with you;
they shall not overwhelm you.
When you walk through fire,
you shall not be scorched;
it shall not burn you.
. . . Because you are precious to Me,
and I love you.
Isaiah 43.2, 4a
(for Tim, Maria and Genevieve)
G-d said, “Let the earth bring forth every kind of living creature: cattle, creeping things, and wild beasts of every kind. And it was so. G-d made wild beasts of every kind and cattle of every kind, and all kinds of creeping things of the earth. And G-d saw that this was good.
I will be to Israel like dew;
He shall blossom like the lily,
He shall strike root like a Lebanon tree. . .
For I am mindful of the plans I have made concerning you ~ declares the Lord ~ plans for your welfare, not for your disaster, to give you a hopeful future. When you call Me, and come and pray to Me, I will give heed to you. You will search for Me and find Me, if only you seek Me wholeheartedly. I will be at hand for you ~ declares the Lord ~ and I will restore your fortunes. And I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places I have banished you ~ declares the Lord ~ and I will bring you back to the place from which I have exiled you. (Jeremiah 29.11-14)
Who gives us more knowledge than the beasts of the earth,
Makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?
. . . Surely it is false that G-d does not listen,
That Shaddai does not make note of it!
. . . The case is before Him; so wait for Him.
I [the Lord] will bestow My blessings upon you,
and make your descendants as numerous as the stars of heaven
and the sands on the seashore. . .
Grass withers, flowers fade ~
But the word of our G-d is always fulfilled!
Your G-d the Lord is in your midst,
A Warrior who brings triumph.
He will rejoice over you and be glad,
He will shout over you with jubilation.
He will soothe with His love
Those long disconsolate.
By the time they learn to reject the bad and choose the good,
people will be feeding on curds and honey.
Fear not, for I am with you,
Be not afraid, for I am your G-d;
I strengthen you and I help you,
I uphold you with My victorious right hand.
